# How Loopdesk works

> Choose between Storyteller and the Video Editor, then share and measure your videos.

A typical Loopdesk workflow has three parts: create a video, get the finished file, then publish it and track how it performs.

## 1. Create a video

Choose the tool that suits what you're making.

| | Storyteller | Video Editor |
| - | - | - |
| **Best for** | Generating a complete film from an idea | Editing your own footage, or combining it with stock media |
| **You provide** | A written prompt and a few settings | Media, plus your editing decisions |
| **AI help** | Storyteller writes, designs, animates, narrates and assembles the film | Aura analyzes your video, suggests edits, creates highlights and generates captions |
| **Your control** | You review the work and approve it at stages marked **Approval Required** | You control every edit on the timeline |
| **Result** | A finished film that you play and download from **Your stories** | A project that you export as a video file |

> [!NOTE]
>
> A Storyteller film doesn't open directly as a Video Editor project. To edit one on a timeline, download it and import it into a Video Editor project. See [Edit a Storyteller film](/storyteller/your-films.md#edit-a-storyteller-film-in-the-video-editor).

## 2. Get your video

* **Storyteller:** When your film is finished, you can play it in your browser and download it from **Your stories**, at the bottom of the Storyteller page. See [Your stories](/storyteller/your-films.md).
* **Video Editor:** Export your project. Loopdesk renders the video in the cloud, and you download the file when the render finishes. See [Export a video](/video-editor/export-video.md).

## 3. Schedule and measure

1. [Connect your YouTube channel](/social-accounts/connect-youtube.md) under **Social Accounts**.
2. Use the **Calendar** to [schedule a rendered video](/scheduling/schedule-a-post.md) to your channel.
3. Track your channel's performance in [Analytics](/analytics/channel-insights.md).
