# Schedule a post

> Choose a rendered video, add your YouTube post details and schedule it from the calendar.

Use the **Calendar** to schedule a rendered video to your connected YouTube channel.

## Before you begin

* **Connect your YouTube channel.** See [Connect a YouTube channel](/social-accounts/connect-youtube.md).
* **Render your video.** You schedule a rendered video from one of your projects, so export it first. See [Export a video](/video-editor/export-video.md).

## Schedule a post

**1. Start a scheduled post**

Open **Calendar** from the main sidebar and select **Schedule post**. The **Import Media Source** dialog opens.

**2. Choose your video**

On the **Projects** tab, browse your projects to find the rendered video you want to post. Each video card can show the video's duration, file size, resolution and date.

Preview the video to check that it's the right one, then select it.

**3. Check the account**

The **Configure Task Parameters** dialog opens. Check that it shows the YouTube account you want to post to.

**4. Add your post details**

Enter a **Title**, which is required, then fill in any other details you need, such as the description, tags, category and privacy. See [YouTube post settings](/scheduling/youtube-post-settings.md).

**5. Set the date and time**

Choose a date and time. Check the timezone and the summary of when your post is scheduled for.

**6. Dispatch the task**

Select **Dispatch Task**. Your post appears on the calendar with its platform and status, and the calendar's upcoming count increases.

> [!NOTE]
>
> We're still confirming how a scheduled post behaves when its time arrives, including how its status changes. After the scheduled time, check your YouTube channel to confirm your video was published as expected.

## Other media sources

Besides **Projects**, the **Import Media Source** dialog also has these tabs:

* **Clips**
* **Cloud Storage**, for media from connected cloud storage. See [Cloud storage](/cloud-storage/overview.md).
