# Add media

> Upload your own files to the Media Library and browse stock video, audio and images.

You can add media to your video in two ways: upload your own files to the **Media Library**, or browse **Stock Media**.

## Media Library

The **Media Library** in the editor holds the files you upload. It's separate from the **Asset Library**, which you open from **Content Library** in the main sidebar to browse files across your connected storage. See [Cloud storage](/cloud-storage/overview.md).

### Upload files

Select **Upload** to choose files from your computer, or drag and drop them into the **Media Library**.

To edit a Storyteller film, download it from **Your stories** first, then upload it here. See [Edit a Storyteller film](/storyteller/your-films.md#edit-a-storyteller-film-in-the-video-editor).

### Add media to the timeline

Click an item in the **Media Library** to add it at the playhead, or drag it onto the timeline to place it where you want. See [Work with the timeline](/video-editor/timeline.md).

### Find media

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| Search | Search your media. |
| Suggested tags | Narrow your media using the tags Loopdesk suggests. |
| **This project** and **All media** | Switch between the media in the current project and all your media. |
| **All**, **Images**, **Videos** and **Audio** | Filter the list by media type. |

## Stock Media

**Stock Media** lets you browse stock content in three types:

* Video
* Audio
* Images

### Stock audio

Each stock audio track shows its:

* title and artist
* duration
* category
* tempo, in beats per minute (BPM)

Use the preview controls to listen to a track before you add it.

> [!TIP]
>
> Use the BPM to find music that matches the pace of your video. A higher BPM generally suits faster cuts.
