# Export a video

> Render your project in the cloud and download the finished video file.

When your edit is ready, export it from the **Output Inspector**. Loopdesk renders your video in the cloud, then you download the file.

## Export and download

**1. Open the Output Inspector**

In the Video Editor, select **Export** at the top right. The **Output Inspector** opens on the right side of the editor.

**2. Choose your settings**

Choose the format, video encoding, resolution, quality, encoding speed, audio codec and color space. You can also choose whether to include audio. For guidance, see [Export settings](/video-editor/export-settings.md).

**3. Check the estimate**

Before you render, the Output Inspector shows the expected resolution, frame rate, file size and duration. Make sure they look right.

**4. Start the render**

Select **Start Export** at the bottom of the Output Inspector. Loopdesk shows the render's progress as it moves through three stages: preparation, rendering and completion.

**5. Download your video**

When rendering finishes, a popup tells you it's complete. Download your video.

## Cloud rendering

Your video renders in the cloud, not on your computer. While it renders, it's safe to minimize the window.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Don't close the Loopdesk tab while your video is rendering. Keep it open until your download is complete.

## 4K export

You can export at up to 4K resolution. Higher resolutions produce larger files. Check the estimated file size before you render.
