# Text and motion

> Add styled text and motion elements to your video.

Use **Text** and **Motion** in the editor to add titles, captions, emoji and animated elements to your video.

## Text

**Text** offers styled text in these categories:

* Essentials
* Trending
* Effects
* Cinematic
* Social & Captions
* Lifestyle & Script
* Indian Languages

Browse a category to find a style that fits your video.

## Motion

**Motion** lets you browse:

* **Emoji** to add to your video
* **Presets** for motion elements

## On the timeline

Text elements sit on the **Text** track, and motion elements sit on the **Motion** track. See [Work with the timeline](/video-editor/timeline.md).

To change a text element's content, font, size, alignment or colors, use its properties panel. See [Text properties](/video-editor/clip-properties.md#text-properties).
