Storyteller

Select Agent in the main sidebar and scroll to Your stories at the bottom of the Storyteller page. Your previous stories are listed with their titles and dates, and you can play and download finished films from there. See Your stories.
Storyteller and the Video Editor are separate workflows. A Storyteller film doesn’t open directly as an editable Video Editor project.
Download the film from Your stories, upload it to the Media Library in a Video Editor project, then add it to the timeline and edit it like any other clip. See Edit a Storyteller film.
Some Storyteller stages are marked Approval Required. Storyteller doesn’t continue past those stages until you review and approve its work. Not every stage needs approval. See Generation stages.
Check whether the current stage is marked Approval Required. If it is, review and approve it so Storyteller can continue. If the stage doesn’t need approval, or the film still isn’t progressing after you approve it, contact support. Include the story’s title and the stage it’s on.
Each film is different, and its credits are billed by stage, so both the cost and the time to generate vary from film to film. Check your credits under Settings > Billing & Usage before you start. See Generation stages.

Video Editor

  • Select: click the clip.
  • Move: drag it along its track.
  • Trim: drag the beginning or end of the clip.
  • Split: move the playhead to where you want to split, then select the scissors control.
  • Delete: right-click the clip and select Delete.
See Work with the timeline.
Use the undo and redo controls at the left of the timeline toolbar. Undo reverses your most recent change, and redo reapplies it.
The five standard tracks, from top to bottom, are Captions, Text, Motion, Video and Audio. Tracks appear according to the content in your project, so a project that uses only captions, text and video shows only those three. The timeline expands as you add content, and you can scroll to reach tracks outside the current view. See Tracks.
  • Playback speed (the 1x selector) changes how fast your video plays. It doesn’t change the timeline view.
  • Zoom (the magnifying-glass − and + controls and the slider) changes how much of the timeline you see.
  • Fit to Timeline (the icon that looks like a fullscreen button) fits all your timeline content into view.
The timeline has no fullscreen mode. See Timeline toolbar.
Use the clip’s Video properties panel. It has controls for position, size, rotation, volume, opacity and more. See Video properties.
In the Video properties panel, expand Effect to choose an effect such as Zoom, Pan or Ken Burns and adjust its settings and timing. Expand Animation to set separate Enter and Exit animations. See Effects and Animation.
There’s no caption at the playhead’s current position. It isn’t an error. Move the playhead to a point that has a caption. See Captions properties.

Aura

Select Analyze Video, or ask Aura to analyze your video. Aura may show a processing state at first. When the analysis is ready, select Start Analysis. When it’s complete, Aura shows a structured result with insights about your video. Results and timing depend on your video. See Analyze Video.
Select Generate Highlights, or ask Aura to find the most engaging moments in your video. Aura presents a highlight-reel proposal for you to review. Then choose Apply Changes to go ahead, or Discard to cancel. See Generate Highlights.
Generate Highlights proposes one highlight reel built from your video’s most engaging moments, which you apply or discard as a whole. Suggest Edits creates an edit plan of individual suggestions, grouped by category and labeled by priority. You choose which ones to apply. See Suggest edits with Aura.
Transcribe is an Aura Quick Action that generates captions for your video. See Transcribe.
Yes. Type your request in the prompt field at the bottom of the Aura panel. You can select a clip on the timeline first to give Aura context.

Exporting

In the Video Editor, select Export at the top right. The Output Inspector opens on the right. Choose your settings, then select Start Export at the bottom. When rendering finishes, download your video. See Export a video.
  • Format: MP4, WebM, MKV or MOV
  • Video encoding: H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9 or ProRes
  • Quality (CRF): a value from 0 to 51
  • Resolution: 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K
  • Encoding speed: Ultrafast to Very Slow
  • Audio codec: AAC or MP3
  • Color space: Default, BT.709 or BT.2020 NCL
  • Audio: include it or leave it out
See Export settings.
Before you render, the Output Inspector estimates your video’s resolution, frame rate, file size and duration from your settings. Use it to check the effect of your settings. For example, a lower CRF value generally gives higher quality and a larger file. See Export settings.
Try a higher CRF value (toward 51) or a lower resolution, and compare the estimated file size in the Output Inspector after each change, before you export. If you don’t need ProRes, H.264 or H.265 are alternatives to consider. The size you end up with depends on your video and settings. See Export settings.
Yes. You can export at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K.
MP4, WebM, MKV and MOV. For most uses, MP4 with H.264 is the most compatible choice.
Yes. Your video renders in the cloud, so it’s safe to minimize the window. Keep the Loopdesk tab open until your download is complete.

Scheduling and social accounts

We’re still improving scheduling, so check these first:
  1. Open Calendar and check the post’s status.
  2. Open Social Accounts and check that your channel is listed under Active Nodes with a successful connection.
  3. Check your channel in YouTube Studio.
If the video still isn’t there, contact support with the post’s title and its scheduled date and time.
Make sure your channel is connected. Open Social Accounts and check that it’s listed under Active Nodes with a successful connection. If it isn’t, connect your YouTube channel.
Scheduling uses rendered videos. Export your video first, then look for it on the Projects tab of the Import Media Source dialog.
Meta connections aren’t currently available, so signing in with Facebook shows this message. YouTube is the only platform you can connect right now. See Social Accounts overview.
Currently, YouTube. Meta is listed but isn’t available yet, and X (Twitter) and TikTok are coming soon.

Analytics

Analytics needs a connected account. Connect your YouTube channel to see the Channel Insights dashboard.

Cloud storage

Dropbox connections don’t always work as expected at the moment. Upload your files to the Media Library instead, and contact support to report the problem. See Cloud storage.

Account and support

Go to Settings > Billing & Usage. In the Video Editor, you can also click the clock in the top bar to show your credits. See Credits and billing.
Go to Settings > Support in the app, or email support@loopdesk.ai. When you report a bug, include what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, any error messages and screenshots if you can. See Contact support.
